This is Halfway Oregon, population 337, which officially changed it's name to Half.com) during the dot-com boom of the late 90's. Half.com made many promises. Some of which were honored and others not. The town is located "halfway" between the communities of Pine and Cornucopia. Many people have the impression that the city of Halfway is in the middle of the state. In fact, the town lies less than one half-hour away from the Idaho border.
The Hells Canyon and Snake River are just an hour away by car. Activities such as hiking, rafting, sightseeing, camping, fishing and simply relaxing.
Halfway or Half.com is not the biggest city in Baker County. Baker City is the county seat and the largest city with a population of about 10,000. Baker City is only 35 miles away from the Pine Valley area of Halfway, OR. The City of Halfway is located in the center of this black and white aerial photograph.
